The following instructions, diagrams and HEX code apply to the Panasonic
SCHT80/SCPM08 DVD Players
Warning: The fitting of any
modification on this Website is done entirely at your own risk.

however caused. If you dont have basic electronics knowledge and
above average soldering experience then you should not read any
further. Fitting these modifications will invalidate your manufacturers
warranty.
1) Unplug the DVD player you wish to modify
from the mains electrical supply.
2) Remove the
units cover screws and remove the cover.
3) Locate the connection points (mainboard/frontpanel etc).
4) Make the connections as shown in the appropriate diagram(s) and
then reassemble the unit and test. Remember to insulate the chip
to prevent short circuit.

1) Unplug
the DVD player you wish to modify from the mains electrical supply.
2) Remove the units cover screws and remove the cover.
3)
Remove any ribbon cables coming from the front panel then remove
the drawer, there are two clips to release in the areas of the
green circles shown in the diagram here.
4) Remove the four screws holding the drive unit in place and
carefully unclip the front panel. Note that there are clips underneath,
at the sides and also close to the drive unit. The picture below
only shows the clips underneath, here.
5) Carefully remove the drive unit and turn it over. The main
board is attached to the underside of the drive unit. You are
now ready to make the connections to the Mod, 4 wires connect
to the main board and two wires attach to the flat board on the
bottom of the machine. Make sure you use the correct flat board
picture for your model and make sure you insulate the chip to
prevent a short circuit and affix the chip in an appropriate location
using a double sided sticky pad.
6) Simply make the connections shown below, then reassemble the
unit and test.
