We now offer a workshop repair service for Mercedes C & E Class
Date added: 04/11/2006
We now offer a workshop repair service for Mercedes C & E Class (manufactured between 1997 and 2002) instrument clusters that have faulty displays.
The fault usually manifests itself as dead pixels within the two outer displays (the larger centre display is rarely, if ever, affected). These clusters cost in the region of £800-00 to replace and no service option other than replacement is offered by Mercedes, also because of the vast number of model/colour variations it is nearly impossible to locate a working secondhand unit.
A picture showing a 2002 CLK instrument cluster with this fault is shown here, a picture of the same cluster after repair is shown here (the alert on the centre display is caused by the cluster being powered up on the workbench and does not relate to this procedure at all).
Price for this service is £200-00 which includes return shipping.
We are pleased to announce our Fiat CD CanCheck Device
Date added: 15/09/2006
We are pleased to announce our Fiat CD (units using ST95320 EEPROM that are fitted to Fiat Punto & Panda etc) CanCheck On and CanCheck Off programmer.
This unit greatly simplifies the bench testing and repair of these very popular units. By simply removing the unit lid and CD deck and then clipping on the supplied 8-pin SOIC test-clip onto the ST95320 EEPROM, you can disable and re-enable CanCheck by a simple one button operation!
The unit can then be tested and/or repaired whilst on the workbench as the unit will be fully operational whilst CanCheck is disabled. Once any test or repair is complete CanCheck can be re-enabled and the unit returned to your customer.
Also, by using this programmer it is very easy to disable CanCheck on these CD units so that they can be re-used in earlier non-CanCheck vehicles (that may have had a cassette only unit fitted) thus allowing these valuable units to be recycled which can only have positive effects on the environment!
A picture of a compatible unit with CanCheck enabled is here and after programming with CanCheck disabled is here. A picture of the main programmer detailing its main features is here. This item can be ordered from the Here.
